MY STORY

Former professional dancer. Dance teacher. Yoga teacher. Wife. Mom. Free spirit. Rebel heart. Creative. Dreamer. Deep thinker. Perimenopausal woman in her late 40’s who crashed and burned with debilitating anxiety and depression after pandemic who, “gets it” from various vantage points and life stages. Been there, done that, but always learning and growing. In the middle of my personal storm, I realized and understood I was supposed to do something with, “all this stuff.” My purpose is to help others get to their “other side,” thrive, rebel against the status quo, live their lives to the fullest and find their light.

I whole heartedly believe, through every chapter of life, everyone has a basic and essential right to be and feel like the best version of themselves, inside and out. Everyone should feel fulfilled, at peace, resolved of past and present issues and trauma, pain free, content and abundant. I also believe that everyone, from children through adults should have immediate and direct access, education, empowerment, tools and support regarding their mental health and overall wellness. Mental health is not one size fits all. Managing stress, having information and support, dialoguing, identifying triggers, engaging in self-care, taking control, commitment, consistency and connecting the mind-body-heart and spirit is key to achieving this. ‘Doing life’ isn’t always a walk in the park, but sometimes that walk in the park is just the tool needed to clear your head, reset and re-center. Sometimes, our inner rebel needs to take that chance, shake things up and challenge our own comfort zone to live fully and feel whole. Self-care of the mind, body and soul is not selfish. It’s essential. We can figure this out, together.

Jess’ specialized area of coaching interest is women’s and adolescent mental health, emphasizing the integration of cognitive behavioral, somatic and creative coaching strategies.

Jess works with adults, children/adolescents, families and couples and is currently accepting new clients.

MY PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY

Full disclosure, I can’t promise this process will always be a breeze. Like anything worthwhile, it takes time, patience, wherewithal and commitment. You need to ask yourself if you are truly ready for this transformational journey. The one thing I can’t do is, want it more than you want it for yourself. As your Integrative Mental Health and Wellness Coach we will work, together to discuss your physical, mental, emotional condition(s) and needs, while devising an individual plan realistic to your current lifestyle. All along the way, your plan will provide you with the necessary tools and strategies to take ownership over your wellness and mental health. (Start feeling empowered here!) Some of the strategies utilized are based in cognitive behavioral coaching, somatic practices, energy work and creative discovery. As you take your journey, I’m here to support you and provide accountability to honor the commitment you make to yourself. I’m also here for positive reinforcement, high 5’s, celebratory dances, a non-judgmental ear and a little tough love and objective honesty, whenever needed. So, are you ready?

HERE’S WHERE I COME IN….

THERAPY VS COACHING

What’s the difference?

As a board certified health coach, I do not diagnose and I do not prescribe. My responsibility and role is to provide you with the support, tools and self-management strategies to feel empowered and capable as you take ownership of your life. I am here to help you set goals and stay on track to achieve them. Coaching is present and future based with performance in mind. It is rooted in dialogue and an individualized action plan vs. a treatment plan.

In the event I believe a referral to an additional/alternative practitioner is beneficial and/or necessary to prioritize your health and well-being, I will provide you with the resources and information to get you to the right place to help you feel your best.
